Do you ever feel like the food you are eating is working against you? The food you're eating is hurting you instead of helping you because at the end of the day food is supposed to give us energy. It's like putting gas in your car but yet the food we're eating is actually causing gas, bloating, acid reflux, tiredness, sluggishness, brain fog, fatigue, and you literally want to like take a nap? If that's you, you're not alone. In this video, I'm going to discuss with you a process that I have been implementing for myself and my patients for the past eight years to help us restore our digestive system and reset so that we can eliminate all this digestive distress and I pay for every time we eat something. My name is Dr. Jennifer Genti. I am a functional medicine doctor and I help professional women eliminate the digestive issues, hormonal imbalance, and weight gain so that they can have more energy, stamina, focus, and excel in life. Now, I used to be the woman with a bloated belly all of the time. I used to be the person afraid of eating, afraid of socializing, afraid of going to anything's given dinner, because I know there might be something in that table, a food, a snack, a dessert that I might be tempted to eat. And if I do eat those food, I will pay for it the next day. Oh my God, I'll be in so much pain, so much distress that I literally, like, wonder why am I still alive? Because the pain was so severe. I was afraid of going on vacation because if I go on vacation, I might be eating something and then the whole vacation will be ruined. If that's you, I want to talk to you about my 3 day bowel rest. What is a bowel rest? A bowel rest is like giving you peace of mind, knowing that you can enjoy yourself, enjoy the food that you love. And have a backup plan to eliminate this toxic food out of your body so that you can give your digestive system a break to restore, repair, and extended healing time. It's essentially a break for your digestive system. Let's be honest. Our gut is constantly working for us. It's overworked. With the snack, the breakfast, the meal, The snack, the lunch, the snack, the dinner, and the snack. So when you do a bowel rest, you essentially put in your digestive system on a vacation, but still feeding your body and your cells exactly what it needs. That is something that I created because I couldn't find anything out there, I'm like, why is there some routine, some program, some process that I can just implement after eating a piece of pie? After eating ice cream because I love ice cream. So I came about to develop a bowel rest and it happens to be by accident. I remember, I went to a wedding, somebody invited me to a wedding. It was an Indian wedding. And if you know, Indians love to party. They love to have like a three day event. So at first I didn't want to go. I'm like, Oh my God, they're going to have so many food. I know Indian people love curry. They love, adding sugar in their food. And I'm like, I don't want to look pregnant in my beautiful dress. So I was contemplating not to go. And my mother was like, come on, let's go, let's go, let's go. You're going to have fun. and I'm like, what is the purpose of me going to a different cultures event when I can even enjoy the food? So I said, you know what, I'm going to go and then I'm going to figure it out. So I went to the Indian wedding and I tasted almost every single food they had on that table. And then just like you know it, the next day I suffered. So I decided not to eat anything or drink anything for three days. So the first three days was horrible. I was tired. I was sluggish. I was miserable. I was detoxing. It wasn't a good thing. So I said, you know what, instead of me going, three days cold turkey, not drinking, not eating because my stomach was hurting me so bad. Let me spend three days of eating and drinking, but I will not be chewing the food. So I remember making some soup and I blended the soup. It was potatoes, chicken, carrots, and celery. And I put it in a blender. I said, I'm just going to spoon fed myself all day. Maybe I'll do some smoothies and then that's going to sustain my energy so that I can go back to work and I can just function as a human being. So I did that and I was like, Oh wow. My stomach was less bloated. I was less gassy. I had more energy and. I wasn't stuffing myself. So I said, huh, I got something there. So why don't I just do this for three days? So that's how this three day bar rest was created. Essentially, when I go on vacation, when I travel for work, or, you know, I am going to an event, or it's the holidays and I'm eating things and I'm trying things, I know for sure that I can always resort back to my 3 Day BioRest. And that's exactly what I give my patients. It's a program that I created that has all the recipes in it. All they have to do is just enjoy life. And then the next day they can rest the digestive system by just eating the food, drinking the smoothies, drinking the protein shakes that's in that program. So a bowel rest is full of nutrients. You're still feeding your cells everything that they need, but you're just not chewing it. So essentially you're giving your digestive system a break. You're giving it time to heal. You're going to have less inflammation, less brain fog. You might even lose a few pounds. Like I know there's a patient that lost two pounds on a bowel rest. And the brain fog might be lifted, the energy will be increased, the headaches might go away, it's a beautiful transformation when you go through this process. I have patients right now that incorporate one day of bowel rest, where they take one day, they're not chewing anything, they are just drinking the soup, drinking the smoothies, drinking the green juice, and they feel amazing. So, at the time I'm recording this, Thanksgiving is around the corner. I will be, guiding a few of my, one on one patients, private patients to a bar rest because again, I'm going to be eating some food this holiday season. And because I know my bar rest is there, so that gives me peace of mind. I don't have to worry about, Oh my God. What am I going to do if I have the stomach pain? What am I going to do if I'm bloated? What am I going to do if I'm gassy? I can just the next day when I wake up, go to this process for three days and feel like a new woman again. So it's not having the best of both worlds, Like going to a wedding, going to holidays, try the pie, try the ice cream, try the lasagna, and then come back home in your surrounding, your environment. Implement the bar rest to restore and reset and repair your digestive system to decrease the digestive distress, the issues, to eliminate digestive discomfort and feeling your best. If you're doing the chicken, potato soup, chicken, potatoes, everything. Carrots, celery, bone broth, and then blend that and then you spoon fed yourself. And I'm also going to guide my patients those three days of the bowel rest. We're going to be doing it together. So I'm going to be guiding them in case they have any issues, any concerns, because I know at the beginning, if you were to do it yourself, there might be some low energy because people sometimes are not, eating enough food. They think they will place in one soup for breakfast or soup for lunch and dinner. So I'm going to be guiding them through. I'm going to be supporting them throughout the whole process and be available to them and have access to me for any issues, any concerns, any questions so that we can finish the year strong. And then not only that, this process can be implemented every month. Every quarter after every event, after every vacation. So you're going to learn a skill that's going to be with you for the rest of your life. I've been doing this for the past eight years. When patients ask me, how do you eat ice cream on your birthday and not pay for it, How do you travel? You're always traveling. You're going to a conference. How do you, maneuver the unhealthy, food that they serve at the hotel or the food that you might be purchasing at the airport? I do a bowel rest. You know, I detox. Barbers is also a milder detox, but it's not as severe as, the detox program that I have. You're still eating food. You're still enjoying healthy food, but not at the expense of your gut.
